Chris Pilmore

Born in the coalfields of The East Midlands, Chris left school to serve an apprenticeship in the local mine where he was to work for the next 20 years, 10 as a Pit Deputy. Shortly after the mass pit closures of the mid 1990s Chris went to visit his brother in Somerset for a few days, never to leave. A different way of life and the beautiful surroundings inspired him to explore a creative side which had always been waiting to emerge.

Completely self taught and using found or reclaimed materials wherever possible Chris’s work has evolved from smaller, more functional pieces to larger, naturally inspired sculptures which have been exhibited throughout The Southwest and in London and has been sold to clients throughout Europe and The USA.
